I have seen the light--suburbs suck.

So, living in a central location for 2 weeks now has proven kevin right. Suburbs suck. Being central, i can get almost anywheres in a 15 minute walk or less. Work, grocery, mall, banks. library, bus stops. etc etc etc. It is so nice not having to depend on car to get around. If i wan to go anywhere, i can just start walking, it is saaaweeeeet. I also mut say it is nice to have the nightlife so close as well. The market, as well as havin lots o fresh veggies, offers tons of pubs and clubs. There are probably 15-20 bars within a 3 block radius. Not just dance bars, but lots of pubs as well, which i prefer. The nightlife here offers a little bit of everything for anyone and so far i really like it. Like a dance bar with an arcade in it--so much fun.
It sure is going to be tough to depend on fossil fuels again once i get back into the city of winnipeg.

See! The burbs are hell! Why wouldn't you want to be close to everything? Cars are hell too. If we could get rid of the -30C weather, we could get rid of most cars... Hmmm...

I hate the suburbs. To get anywhere in the suburbs, you have one choice of transportation: You drive. Forget night life. Driving after a night out is a good way to get busted or in a wreck - and busted.

The suburbs are like a lunar colony planned by a madman. You need your spacecraft to get to any other part of the colony. And you don't even get the benefit of 1/6 Earth's gravity!

To be honest, there is one main sucky part of being in a city. That is, homeownership is out of reach except for CEOs and lotto winners versus merely plastic surgeons.
